✨ Temple Story ✨

According to temple tradition, Swami Haridas was a great devotee of Radha and Krishna who spent his time in meditation and devotional singing at Nidhivan. His disciples wished to see the divine form of the Lord that he constantly worshipped. Pleased by his devotion, Radha and Krishna appeared before Swami Haridas and later manifested in a single form known as Banke Bihari Ji. The sacred idol was installed for worship and soon became one of the most beloved forms of Lord Krishna in Vrindavan. Even today, devotees believe that the divine beauty of Banke Bihari Ji is so captivating that the temple curtain is repeatedly opened and closed during darshan. This unique tradition continues to make Banke Bihari Temple one of the most special spiritual destinations in India.
