✨ Temple Story ✨

According to Hindu tradition, Lord Krishna was born in the prison of King Kansa to Devaki and Vasudeva on the eighth day of the dark fortnight of the month of Bhadrapada. Soon after his birth, Vasudeva carried the divine child across the Yamuna River to Gokul, where Krishna was raised by Nanda Baba and Yashoda. The place believed to be the exact birthplace of Lord Krishna later became one of the holiest pilgrimage sites in India. Over the centuries, the temple witnessed several periods of destruction and reconstruction under different rulers. Despite these challenges, the faith of devotees remained unwavering. Today, Shri Krishna Janmabhoomi Temple stands as one of the most revered temples in India. Every year, millions of pilgrims visit this sacred place to offer prayers, celebrate Janmashtami, and experience the spiritual heritage of the birthplace of Lord Krishna.
